Lil Bruh Clowns CBS News at the Emmys After Snaggin' Scholarship Money
This DC student, Santiago Campos, ain't holdin' back, callin' out CBS for stainin' a legend's name wit' that corporate sh*t.

Aight, so check it. This young cat, Santiago Campos, right? Dude's 18, comin' straight outta DC, and he just pulled a move that got errbody talkin'. He hit the 47th annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards in NYC, lookin' all proper 'n sh*t, 'cause he just got handed the Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship. Ten stacks, straight cash, homie. But here's where it gets real.
Instead of just grinnin' and beamin' for the cameras, thanking CBS News for the come-up, this lil' bruh decided to keep it a hunnid. He used his speech to straight-up call out CBS for goin' left. Said the direction they headin' in is messin' up the legacy of Mike Wallace, that OG interviewer. Said that the “corporate elites” are tryna control the info, makin' it harder for the people to get the real truth. Real talk.
He dropped this line that's got folks buggin' out: "If at any time you hesitate to utter the word ‘genocide’, or remain silent in the face of blatant lies, remember to ask yourself: ‘Who is this for?’ I hope you choose us.” Yo, that's deep. This kid ain't playin'. He's tellin' these journalists to put the people first, even if it means speakin' truth to power. No cap.
Scott Pelley, this old-school CBS dude, was all like, “Mike would be proud!” Sh*t, I don't know about that. But I know this kid got some serious guts. It takes a lot to bite the hand that feeds ya, especially in front of all those bigwigs.
He told The Guardian he felt obligated to speak up, even though he was grateful for the scholarship. Said he couldn't just take the money and pretend like everything was cool. He knew it was risky, but he had to do it. That's what's up.
And peep this: he wasn't even hip to Mike Wallace before he applied for the scholarship. So, he did his research, saw what Wallace stood for, and realized CBS ain't livin' up to the name. Smart kid.
He said he doesn't use Twitter, but he knows his words blew up online. He figures it just shows how low expectations are for journalists these days. He's right. We used to expect these folks to be fearless truth-tellers. Now, they just readin' scripts and pushin' agendas.
This kid's point is, the youngstas gotta hold these folks accountable. The journalists are supposed to be watchdogs, not lapdogs. And if they ain't gonna do their job, then we gotta step up and do it for 'em.
