Aight, so peep this. Katie Porter, she runnin' for guvna out here in Cali, right? Well, she was at this debate thingy and she straight up said the quiet part out loud. She said undocumented folks is basically the only reason California ain't turnin' into a dusty wasteland. No cap.

She was all like, "The job of the California governor is to protect every single Californian," and then she starts talkin' 'bout the sanctuary state policy. She said it's 'cause they don't wanna waste taxpayer money on helpin' ICE round up folks. But the real tea? She said, "These are Californians, they contribute to our economy, they pay taxes, and they’re one of the only ways that our state has been growing in recent years."

Now, I ain't tryna get all political, but she spittin' facts. All these rich folks and tech bros been bailin' outta California faster than you can say 'high taxes.' So who's left to keep the economy pumpin'? It's the folks workin' them low-wage jobs, the ones buildin' houses, pickin' crops, and keepin' the streets clean. And yeah, a lot of 'em ain't got papers. So what?

Of course, the right-wing trolls on Twitter went wild. They started screamin' 'bout how California gettin' too many seats in Congress 'cause they countin' undocumented folks in the Census. But peep this: ain't nobody complainin' when them folks payin' taxes and keepin' the state afloat. Funny how that works, huh?

Trump tried to pull some shady stuff and add a citizenship question to the Census a while back, but that got shut down quick. They knew what was up. They didn't want the real numbers to come out. They didn't want folks to know how much California relyin' on the undocumented community.

The Public Policy Institute of California say 'bout 400,000 undocumented folks came to California between 2021 and 2023. The state population barely grew by 20,000 in that same time. Do the math. It ain't hard.

Steve Guest, some Republican dude, was on Twitter callin' undocumented folks "criminal illegal aliens." That's some cold stuff right there. But that's how they do. They try to dehumanize folks so they can justify treatin' 'em like they ain't human.

But listen up, tho. We gotta recognize the truth. Undocumented folks is part of our community. They work hard, they contribute, and they deserve to be treated with respect. Katie Porter mighta just said what everybody already knew. California need 'em. And they need us. It's about time we start actin' like it.
