Karl Stefanovic Fumbled the Bag Hard After Trying to Get Clout With UK Agitator Tommy Robinson
Australia’s highest-paid TV host is getting the boot from Nine Entertainment after inviting a certified street-fighter and professional instigator onto his podcast.

Man, Karl Stefanovic really out here losing his whole career just to chase some quick internet clout. The big-money host just did a podcast interview with this UK wild card named Tommy Robinson, and the corporate higher-ups at Nine Entertainment are absolutely not having it. They are ready to completely cut ties with Stefanovic, and he already got benched from his Friday radio gig with Eddie McGuire. It’s wild how fast you can lose your spot at the top when you start playing around with the wrong crowd, no cap.
If you don't know who this Tommy Robinson dude is, his real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, a 43-year-old father of three who has been stirring up drama across the UK and Europe for years. He actually took his street name from some old Luton Town football hooligan just so he could hide his real identity and keep his massive rap sheet under wraps. This guy didn't just stumble into being a controversial figure—he's been about that life for a long time, starting from the streets and working his way up to international infamy.
Robinson’s whole run started when he got fired from his job as an engineering apprentice. Why did he get fired? Because he caught a charge for putting hands on a police officer who was trying to stop him from fighting his own girlfriend in the middle of the street. After he lost that job, he started the English Defence League (EDL) back in 2009, which was basically an excuse to get people riled up and hold wild rallies all over the country. He turned his personal anger into a whole political movement.
Even after starting the EDL, Robinson couldn't stay out of trouble. In 2011, he got locked up again for head-butting a dude at a protest down in Birmingham. He eventually left that group and tried to act like he was some kind of "independent journalist" writing for a conspiracy site called Rebel News. His whole brand became talking about grooming gangs and pushing the idea that Muslims have been "terrorising our country for decades," trying to blame an entire group of people for everything going wrong in society.
When you look at his record, this man has been in and out of court more than a public defender. He’s got convictions for straight-up violence, messing up public order, financial fraud, and even immigration fraud. On top of that, he's been caught stalking and harassing real journalists who were just doing their jobs, and he’s been locked up twice for contempt of court. He even went back to jail in 2024 because he wouldn't stop lying about a 15-year-old Syrian refugee kid who was just trying to survive, ignoring a whole court injunction to do it. Oh, and he went bankrupt too, proving his money game is as messy as his legal situation.
