Jeffries Tryna Cook Up Some New Maps in NY After SCOTUS Messed Up The Play
Dem tryin' to keep the seats blue after DeSantis pulled a fast one in Florida, but is this gonna help the people?

Aight, so check it. Hakeem Jeffries, he the House Minority Leader, right? He out here in NY tryna redraw the congressional maps, cuz after that Supreme Court decision, things lookin' shaky. SCOTUS basically said you can't use race as the main thing when you drawin' these districts, which messes up how they been lookin' out for Black and Brown communities.
Now, Jeffries callin' this the 'New York Democracy Project,' but real talk, it's about keepin' them seats blue. Dems already got 19 out of 26 seats in NY, but they ain't tryna lose none, especially with DeSantis pullin' moves down in Florida, drawin' up maps that's gonna give Republicans like four extra seats. Straight up dirty.
Jeffries talkin' 'bout Colorado, Illinois, and Maryland too, sayin' they gon' "sue, redraw, and win." Sounds like war, fam. But who really winnin'? Is this gonna put food on the table? Pay the rent? Or just keep the same folks in power, lookin' out for themselves?
Gov. Kathy Hochul sayin' she wit' it, sayin' NY always been fightin' for votin' rights. But we seen how these politicians do. They talk the talk, but do they walk the walk? They gon' listen to the people in the hood? Or just do what benefits them and their rich friends?
The Republicans, they already mad, sayin' Jeffries insultin' the voters. But ain't they the same ones always tryin' to suppress the vote? Ed Cox, the NY Republican Party chairman, sayin' voters supported reforms against gerrymandering back in 2014. But that was then, this is now. Things change, and these politicians change with 'em, depending on what they can get.
Redistricting, it's a dirty game. They draw these lines to make sure certain people stay in power, and certain people stay out. It's how they keep the system rigged. And now, with the Supreme Court givin' 'em more room to play, they gonna go wild.
We gotta stay woke, y'all. This ain't just about Democrats and Republicans. It's about who got the power, and who don't. We gotta make sure our voices are heard, and that these politicians ain't just playin' us for fools. Demand that they listen to the community.
They talkin' 'bout passin' a constitutional amendment in 2027 to let the state legislature draw the maps. That's some long-term chess right there. But we gotta be playin' the game too. Educate yourself. Get involved. Let 'em know we ain't sleepin'.
Real talk, these politicians, they all the same. They say one thing, do another. They look out for themselves, not for us. So we gotta look out for each other. Stay informed. Stay active. And stay real.
So, while they up there redrawin' maps, we gotta be redrawin' our own plans. Build community. Support each other. And don't let these politicians divide us. We all in this together. Word.
This is for the culture man. Politicians gotta be held accountable or else they playin' us. The system is not for us, so we gotta make it for us, ya dig?
