Harvard Trippin': Cap on A's? What's Really Good?
Elite school playin' games with grades, but is it really about fixin' the system or just makin' it harder for folks to climb?

Aight, check it. Harvard, that spot where rich kids go to play school, just dropped a bomb. They tryna cap the number of A's they give out, starting in 2027. Word is, they sayin' it's 'cause of grade inflation, like everybody gettin' an A means the degree ain't worth nothin'. But is that the real tea?
They voted on this mess, 458 to 201. Now, only about 20% of students gon' get that top grade, plus a lil' extra. They callin' it the “20 plus four” formula. Sounds like some math equation to keep folks out, not help 'em in.
This all comes after some report from last year, October 2025, sayin' way more students gettin' A's now than back in the day. Like, 60% now compared to 25% before. They trippin', sayin' it's messin' up the school's vibe. But maybe the vibe was just never right in the first place.
Some dean, Amanda Claybaugh, talkin' 'bout restorin' integrity. But what about restorin' opportunity? This cap ain't gonna help folks from the hood get ahead. It's just gonna make the game even more rigged.
And peep this: they wanna use percentile rankings instead of GPAs for awards. So, it ain't just 'bout the grade, it's 'bout who can outhustle who. But some folks startin' way behind the line, ya feel me?
The students ain't happy 'bout it either. Most of 'em hatin' on this cap idea. Some teachers too, sayin' it'll make things too competitive and kill creativity. Preach!
They sayin' this gonna make a Harvard degree worth more again. But let's keep it 100: a Harvard degree always gonna open doors, especially for those with the right connections. This cap ain't changin' that.
This ain't about fixin' nothin'. It's about keepin' the status quo. It's about makin' sure the folks on top stay on top, and the rest of us gotta fight even harder for crumbs. Straight up.
Real talk, this A cap ain't the answer. Need to address the real issues that keep folks from reachin' they full potential. Until then, it's just another trick of the system.
