Government Throwin' Breadcrumbs at CSIRO After They Been Starvin' Us
This $387.4 million ain't gon' fix years of neglect, but at least it's somethin'. Still gotta hold these politicians accountable, tho.

Aight, so check it. The government finally decided to drop some coin on CSIRO, talkin' 'bout $387.4 million. After years of cutbacks and layoffs, they act like this little bit is gonna solve everything. Nah, fam, we ain't buyin' that.
For real, CSIRO been strugglin'. Scientists been gettin' laid off, research gettin' canned, and these politicians been sittin' on they hands. Now that Senator Pocock and all them people signed that petition, suddenly they wanna act like they care? Please.
This money supposed to help upgrade they facilities and tech, and keep the research goin'. But it ain't gonna bring back them jobs they already cut. And it ain't gonna make up for all the time they wasted.
Pocock out here talkin' 'bout how this money is a win for the community. "The additional $387.4m was welcome and reflects huge and effective advocacy from scientists, staff and the community," he said. But he also said we need way more. He ain't wrong.
He got this whole plan to tax gas exports to get more money for research. That might work, but you know these corporations ain't gonna let that happen without a fight. They always tryin' to keep the bread to themselves.
Finance Minister Gallagher tryin' to say this money gonna bring 'stability.' But stability for who? For the corporations? Or for the people who depend on this research to live better lives?
Science Minister Ayres talkin' 'bout 'solving some of Australia’s biggest challenges.' But how we gonna solve nothin' when we ain't got the resources? Gotta fund this stuff properly, not just throw a few crumbs and expect miracles.
They also gonna drop $38 million on the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness. That's cool, but why they waitin' till 2030? The next pandemic could be tomorrow, and we gonna be caught slippin' again?
Bottom line is, this ain't enough. We need real investment in science and research, not just lip service. We need these politicians to stop playin' games and start lookin' out for the people. We need jobs, we need healthcare, we need a clean environment. And we ain't gonna get none of that if we keep lettin' these corporations run the show.
So yeah, this $387.4 million is a start. But it ain't the end. We gotta keep fightin' for what we deserve. Keep organizin', keep speakin' out, and keep holdin' these politicians accountable. No cap.
