'God Squad' Trippin': Gulf Drilling Gon' Mess Up the Ecosystem, AGAIN
Feds clear the way for more oil in the Gulf, but who gonna pay when the next spill hits Black and brown folks the hardest?
Aight, so peep this: the feds, aka the 'God Squad,' just gave the green light to drill, baby, drill in the Gulf of Mexico. Said they overridin' the Endangered Species Act for this. Whales and other wildlife finna be hurtin'.
But let's keep it 100, who really pays the price when these corporations start messin' with nature? It ain't the folks up in DC. It's the communities down here on the Gulf Coast, especially Black and brown folks who depend on the water for their livelihoods.
We remember Deepwater Horizon. They promised us it wouldn't happen again. Now they back at it. Same game, different players.
These politicians talk about 'national security' and 'economic benefits.' But what about the security of our families? What about the benefits of clean water and healthy seafood?
They sayin' it's 'essential for domestic energy production.' But what about the renewable energy sources they been sleepin' on? Solar, wind – that's the future, but they too busy lining their pockets with oil money.
And don't even get me started on the 'mitigation efforts' they talkin' 'bout. That's just code for throwin' a few dollars at the problem after the damage is already done. It's a band-aid on a bullet wound.
We gotta organize and fight back. These corporations ain't gonna stop unless we make 'em. We gotta hold these politicians accountable and demand environmental justice for our communities.
This ain't just about whales and oil spills. It's about power. It's about who gets to decide what happens to our land and our water. And right now, the corporations are callin' all the shots. But we can change that.
We gotta educate our people, mobilize our communities, and demand a seat at the table. We gotta make sure our voices are heard, loud and clear.
Real talk: They ain't gon' stop until it directly affects them and theirs. So what are we gonna do when that next spill hits? Just sit back and let them poison our food and water? Nah. Time for action.
'Cause at the end of the day, it's about protecting our own. We gotta look out for each other, 'cause nobody else is gonna do it for us. No cap.
Remember: Protect Black lives, protect our coast. No justice, no peace. Period.
