Fortnite CEO Messed Up, Had Dude With Brain Cancer Sweatin'
Epic Games laid off a terminally ill worker, cuttin' off his life insurance, and the internet went wild.

Aight, so check it. Tim Sweeney, the head honcho over at Epic Games, the folks that made Fortnite, done messed up. They laid off over a thousand workers, and one of 'em was a brotha fightin' terminal brain cancer. But it ain't just the job, ya feel me? They cut off his LIFE INSURANCE. Now that's cold.
His wife, Jenni Griffin, hit up Facebook, tellin' everybody what went down. She posted a pic of his brain scan, lookin' all kinds of messed up, tumors everywhere. She said they ain't just losin' income, but they losin' that insurance that's gonna help her bury her man. Straight up broke my heart.
The internet went OFF. People was draggin' Epic Games all over the place. Sweeney had to come out and apologize on X (used to be Twitter). He said, "Epic is in contact with the family and will solve the insurance for them. There is high confidentiality around medical information, and it was not a factor in this layoff decision. Sorry to everyone for not recognizing this terribly painful situation and handling it in advance.” Sounds good, but actions speak louder than words, ya know?
See, this is what happens when these big corporations only care about the bottom line. They see workers as numbers, not people. They talk about "cost savings" and "restructuring," but what about the folks who are puttin' in work every day to make them billions? Epic Games makes $4 billion a year off Fortnite! That's some serious cheddar.
They say they gave folks a severance package, four months of pay and some healthcare. But for this dude, that ain't enough. He need that life insurance to take care of his family when he's gone. And 'cause his condition a pre-existing, he can't even get no new coverage. That's messed up on so many levels.
This ain't just about one dude, though. This is about the whole system. These companies get away with murder, treatin' workers like they disposable. They get tax breaks, loopholes, and all kinds of advantages, while regular folks struggle to make ends meet. It's time for a change.
I hope Epic Games do the right thing and take care of this family. But I also hope this opens people's eyes to the reality of corporate greed. We gotta stand up for ourselves and demand better treatment. We gotta support each other and fight for a more just system.
This is real life, not a game. People's lives are on the line. No cap.
