Fo' Real Tho: Dude Gets Life for Cold Case Murder From '86
40 years later, they finally caught the cat who choked out that college girl. Straight up wild how long it took.

Aight, peep game. This John Carey cat, 66 years old, just got hit wit' a life sentence for murking Claire Gravel back in '86. We talkin' COLD case, decades in the freezer. That's some serious wait time for justice, know what I'm sayin'?
They say he strangled her wit' a tank top. A TANK TOP! That's some grimey sh*t right there. This ain't no movie, this is real life. Shorty was a college student, just tryna live her life, and this dude snuffed her out. Heartless.
DA Paul Tucker hit it right: "The family of Claire Gravel has waited 40 long years for justice." Forty years! Can you imagine? You lose a loved one like that, and you gotta wait almost half a CENTURY to get any kinda closure? That's messed up. Straight up.
She was last seen at Major Magleashes’ Pub wit' her softball team. Just chillin', havin' a good time. Then she gets dropped off at her crib, and that's the last anyone saw her alive. Two days later, they find her body in the woods. Tragic.
But here's where it gets real. This dude left his DNA on the murder weapon. Deputy DA Kim Faitella said it best: "What he left behind was his genetic blueprint on the murder weapon." In other words, he snitched on himself. You can't be that dumb and expect to get away wit' murder.
Turns out, this Carey cat was ALREADY in the pen for tryin' to strangle ANOTHER woman. So, he's a repeat offender, a menace to society. Glad they finally got him off the streets for good.
This sh*t just goes to show you, justice might be slow, but it eventually catches up. My heart goes out to Claire Gravel's family. Forty years is a long time to wait for peace.
But for real, let this be a lesson. You do dirt, you gonna pay. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually, they gonna come knockin' at your door. And when they do, ain't nobody gonna be there to save you. Keep it 100.
And shout out to the detectives who kept diggin' and never gave up on this case. Y'all the real MVPs. Keep doin' the work, keep fightin' for justice, and keep puttin' these criminals where they belong: behind bars.
Real talk, this is why we gotta support our communities and look out for each other. We can't let these kinda things happen without speakin' up and demandin' justice. 'Cause at the end of the day, we all we got.
So rest in peace to Claire Gravel. May her family find some peace after all this time. And to John Carey: rot in hell, my dude.
