Exile TV Man Droppin' a Play 'Bout 'Partheid: Still Gon' Be Struggle, Tho
Mfundi Vundla, creator of 'Generations,' tryna tell us 'bout the messiness of fightin' for freedom. Bet.
Aight, so peep this. Mfundi Vundla, the dude who made "Generations" – the show your mama watches every damn day – he's comin' out wit' a play 'bout apartheid. He was in exile for 21 years, so he think he got the inside scoop, right? Gon' be talkin' 'bout the "imperfections" of the movement. Word?
Apartheid was straight up trash, a system built on hatred and oppression. But now this dude wanna act like it was all complicated? Like the people fightin' against that BS weren't the real MVPs? I'm side-eyein' this heavy.
Look, I ain't sayin' everything was perfect. Black folks gotta eat, and sometimes you gotta make moves you ain't proud of to survive. But let's not act like the ones fightin' for our freedom was just as bad as the oppressor. That's some cap.
And where was Vundla during the struggle? Sippin' tea in London? Nah, real talk, the real heroes were in the townships, facin' dogs and batons. They were the ones puttin' their lives on the line. He sittin' pretty now, but remember where we come from.
This play probably gon' be full of that 'woke' stuff. Talkin' 'bout 'systemic racism' and 'white privilege.' Like we ain't already know that. We livin' it every day. It's the same song and dance every time.
They gon' try to make us feel bad 'bout the choices made during the struggle. Like we had all the options in the world. But when your back's against the wall, you do what you gotta do to survive, ya dig? It ain't always pretty, but it's real.
The youth ain't gonna learn nothin' from this play. They gettin' they history from TikTok and Netflix. They think MLK was the only one who fought for civil rights. The struggle is still going on. It just changed forms.
This play ain't gonna put food on the table or stop the police from harassin' us. It ain't gonna fix the broken schools or create jobs in the hood. It's just gonna make some rich people feel good about themselves.
Vundla cashing in on his 'struggle cred,' makin' bank off our pain. Same ol' story, different day. The rich get richer while the poor stay poor. It's a trap. Don't fall for the okie doke.
So go ahead and watch the play. But don't forget where you come from. Don't let them rewrite history to make themselves feel better. The struggle ain't over, and we still gotta fight for our rights. Keep it 100, and tell the truth. Ain't no time for playin', we got real lives to live.
This is about feeling, not fixin'. Gon' be a lot of crocodile tears. Remember, ain't nobody gonna hand you nothin', you gotta take it. And stop listenin' to these 'leaders' who profit off the struggle while we still at the bottom. The real struggle is within, man.
This whole play is a performance. For the cameras, for the critics, for the folks who wanna feel like they're 'doing somethin' 'bout racism' without actually doin' nothin'. Don't get played, fam. Stay woke. Keep your eyes open.
