DHS Trippin': Shuts Down Oversight Office, Leaves Detainees Hangin'
Gov'ment claimin' it's a money thing, but folks locked up in dem detention centers 'bout to get straight-up played.

Aight, listen up. DHS done pulled a fast one. They shut down the Office of Immigration Detention Ombudsman (OIDO), the spot that was supposed to be watchin' over them detention centers. They sayin' it's 'cause Congress ain't cuttin' enough bread, but real talk, this ain't 'bout no budget, this 'bout control.
OIDO was 'posed to be lookin' into deaths, medical care (or lack thereof), and crooked cops in them detention centers. Now that's gone, who gonna check these folks? They already treatin' immigrants like dogs, now they got a green light to do whatever they want.
DHS out here blamin' Congress, sayin' "DHS did not shut down the Office of Immigration Detention Ombudsman—Congress did." But that's just a cop-out. They coulda found the money somewhere else if they really cared. Truth is, they prolly wanted this gone all along.
And peep this: Trump's been gutting this office for years, cuttin' staff left and right. Now deaths in detention centers at an all-time high. Coincidence? I think TF not!
Jennifer Ibañez Whitlock from the National Immigration Law Center tryin' to speak facts, sayin' OIDO was 'posed to be independent from ICE and CBP. But how independent can you be when the same people runnin' the show are the ones you 'posed to be watchin'? Still, at least they was SOMETHING.
Folks gotta understand, these detention centers ain't no joke. People gettin' mistreated, denied medical care, and straight-up abused. This ain't 'bout politics, it's 'bout humanity. But you know the gov'ment don't give a damn about that.
They cuttin' staff left and right, sayin' they 'internal adversaries.' Man, they just tryna hold these folks accountable! From over 100 employees down to FIVE? That's a damn shame.
So what's the solution? We gotta stay woke and keep pressure on these folks. We gotta demand accountability and fight for the rights of immigrants. 'Cause if we don't, who will?
Don't let 'em get away with this. Speak up, organize, and let your voice be heard. 'Cause at the end of the day, we all we got.
Keep it 100, real talk.
Stay strong, stay vigilant.
For real tho.
