Corpus Christi Got That Drought Drip, But the City Trippin'
Water running low in the Sparkling City by the Sea, but the folks in charge ain't cuttin' it for the community.
Aight, check it, fam. Corpus Christi, Texas, lookin' drier than your grandma's chitlins after Thanksgiving. They talkin' 'bout a water crisis, and straight up, it ain't no joke. Drought kickin' our asses, industry pullin' all the water, and the city council lookin' lost as hell. This ain't just about sprinklers, this about survival, ya heard?
Now, let's keep it 100. That drought real, for real. But all that talk 'bout industrial growth? That's just fancy talk for corporations drainin' our resources for they pockets. They get rich, we get dust. This ain't new, man. Same ol' story.
The city, though? They ain't blameless. They been sleepin' on this for years. Shoulda been buildin' up that infrastructure, conservin' water, plannin' for this type of ish. But nah, they too busy playin' politics, lining they pockets. Now we all gonna pay the price. Water bill finna skyrocket, bet.
This affects everyday folks, ya feel me? Moms tryna feed they kids, pops tryna keep they yards alive. Businesses strugglin' to stay afloat. The rich folks? They gonna be aight. They got they own wells, they own bottled water stashes. But what about us?
This remind me of Hurricane Harvey. They left us out to dry then too. Same game, different day. It ain't about 'us', it's all about 'them'. But we gotta wake up and see it for what it is. They playin' us.
To fix this? We need real change. Not that lip service politicians give us. We need investment in our communities, water conservation programs that actually help us, and accountability for these corporations that runnin' wild. We gotta make they hear us.
Experts sayin' we need to diversify water sources. Cool. But that mean more money for big business? Or is that mean real solutions for the community? We need to be in that conversation.
This ain't just a Corpus Christi problem, this a world problem. Climate change comin' for us all. But we gotta fight for our survival, protect our resources, and stand up for our communities. We ain't gonna let 'em take our water without a fight. Period.
It is what it is, but it don't gotta stay like this.
We gotta get organized and demand change. We gotta let our voices be heard. And we gotta remember: we all we got.
Keep it real, stay woke, and watch out for your neighbor. We in this together, fam.
