Colbert's 'Truthiness' Run Over: Did He Keep It Real or Nah?
Colbert's show getting canned got folks talkin': Was he speakin' truth to power, or just another talking head?

So, word on the street is Colbert's 'Late Show' got the axe after 11 years. They sayin' ratings good, but CBS still pulled the plug. Now everybody's wonderin' if it's 'cause he was too real with the Trump critiques. But the real question is: did he keep it 100, or was he just playin' the game?
Colbert came up with this whole 'truthiness' thing back on 'The Colbert Report.' Basically, it's believin' what feels right, even if the facts don't back it up. He was clownin' on cats like Bill O'Reilly, but some folks say he ended up doin' the same thing, just from the other side.
Roy Wood Jr. from CNN tryin' to say Colbert was all about 'sticking to the truth.' But whose truth we talkin' 'bout? The corporate truth? The Hollywood truth? Or the truth that folks in the hood be livin' every day?
They sayin' the show got canceled 'cause Colbert was too critical of Trump. But let's be real, corporate media ain't never been down with truly speakin' truth to power. They'll let you talk as long as it don't mess with the bag.
Colbert had Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, John Oliver, and Seth Meyers on his last show. All them cats eatin', but how many of 'em really speakin' for the people? Most of 'em just makin' jokes for the same crowd every night.
Colbert's legacy complicated, man. He put 'truthiness' in the game, but did he really change anything? Did he uplift Black voices? Did he fight for economic justice? Or was he just another rich dude makin' jokes for other rich dudes?
At the end of the day, Colbert's show bein' over ain't gonna change nothin' for most of us. The struggle still real, the bills still due, and the system still rigged. We gotta keep fightin' for our own truth, even if nobody on TV is tellin' it.
Next time somebody talkin' 'bout 'truthiness,' remember where it came from and who's really benefitin'. Don't let 'em gaslight you into believin' nothin' real. Keep it locked on what's true for you and your community. Real talk.
