BAFTAs Playin' Games: Tourette's Get a Pass, But What About Racism?
For real, the BAFTAs showed their true colors by sweepin' racism under the rug while worried 'bout some involuntary noises.
Aight, so check it. The BAFTAs, right? They out here worried 'bout somebody with Tourette's makin' noise during the show, droppin' a whole statement 'bout it. Cool, gotta be sensitive. But when it comes to the possibility of somebody droppin' a whole racial slur? Shhh, crickets. That's where they draw the line? Word?
This ain't nothin' new, tho. It's the same old song and dance. Institutions like the BAFTAs always prioritize certain folks over others. They'll bend over backwards to look woke, but when it comes to actually addressin' real issues like racism, they stay silent. Keep it 100, they ain't built for that.
For generations, Black folks been dealin' with racism in Hollywood. From gettin' typecast as the sidekick to straight-up bein' excluded, the struggle is real. And now, the BAFTAs wanna act like a racial slur is just a minor inconvenience? Nah, that ain't gonna fly.
They wanna talk 'bout bein' inclusive, but their actions speak louder than words. By not addressin' the possibility of racism, they sendin' a clear message: Black folks ain't a priority. Our pain ain't worth mentionin'. That's some straight-up BS.
This ain't just 'bout the BAFTAs, tho. It's 'bout the whole system. These awards shows, these institutions, they all built on a foundation of inequality. They perpetuate the same stereotypes and biases that keep Black folks down.
So what we gotta do? We gotta call 'em out. We gotta hold 'em accountable. We gotta let 'em know that we ain't gonna stand for this no more. We gotta demand change, and we gotta demand it now.
We gotta create our own spaces, our own platforms, where Black voices can be heard and celebrated. We gotta support Black artists and creators, and we gotta build a world where Black folks can thrive without havin' to deal with this kinda nonsense.
'Cause at the end of the day, it ain't 'bout the BAFTAs. It's 'bout us. It's 'bout our community. It's 'bout buildin' a better future for our kids. And we ain't gonna let nobody stand in our way.
So next time you see some shady stuff like this goin' down, don't stay silent. Speak up. Speak out. Let your voice be heard. 'Cause that's the only way we gonna make a change. Real talk.
Stay woke, y'all. They plottin'.
