Artemis II Mission Hit the Moon, Broke Records, But What About My Rent, Tho?
NASA out here stuntin' with Artemis II, but back on the block, folks still strugglin' to make ends meet.

April 7, 2026 – Aight, so NASA's Artemis II mission just swung by the moon, broke some Apollo record, and saw an eclipse. Word. That's what's up. But real talk, what dat mean for me and my folks back in the hood? 'Cause last time I checked, rent still high as hell, and them jobs still ain't payin' enough to live on.
They spendin' billions on this space sh*t, while we out here fightin' over scraps. Where's the money for education? Where's the money for healthcare? Where's the money for affordable housing? They talkin' 'bout colonizin' the moon, but can't even fix the potholes on my street.
This lunar swingby thing sounds cool, but it ain't gonna put food on the table. They braggin' 'bout the technology, but what about the technology that can help us clean up our communities and create better opportunities for our kids?
Apollo record? That was back in the day when Black folks were still fightin' for basic rights. Now they want us to be excited about space exploration when we still dealin' with systemic racism and police brutality? Nah, son, I'm good.
Eclipse? Cool. But I see a different kinda darkness every day in this world. The darkness of poverty, the darkness of injustice, the darkness of despair. That's the eclipse we need to be worried about.
They sayin' it's an investment in the future. But whose future? The future of the rich and powerful? Or the future of the everyday people who work hard and still can't get ahead?
The mission progress be monitored closely? Bet. They watchin' everythin' we do, from our phones to our bank accounts. But who's watchin' out for us?
Human presence on the moon? That sounds like some sci-fi movie. I'm just tryna figure out how to survive on this planet, man.
The mission be part of a broader effort to push the boundaries of human knowledge? Alright, cool. But knowledge ain't worth nothin' if it don't benefit the community. We need knowledge that empowers us, knowledge that liberates us, knowledge that helps us build a better future for ourselves.
They tellin' us this sh*t expensive, but if they ain't gonna trickle down any of that bread to the people they are lyin'.
NASA team and their partners, salute. But don't forget where you came from, and don't forget the people who are still grindin' every day just to survive. Use your powers for good, and make sure that space exploration benefits all of humanity, not just a select few.
Future of space exploration? I'm focused on the future of my community. We need to build our own spaces, our own opportunities, our own destinies. The sky ain't the limit when there are footprints on the moon, but the hood is still the place where we make our own magic. No cap.
