Artemis II: Is NASA Really For The People, Or Just Frontin'?
They sending folks to the moon again, but what dat mean for the hood, tho? Gotta keep it 100, is this space race for us or just for the rich?

Aight, so NASA talkin' 'bout sendin' folks back to the moon wit' this Artemis II thing. Four astronauts, right? Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen. Cool, cool. But lemme keep it a buck wit' y'all, what dis mean for us down here in the streets?
They flexin' 'bout bein' inclusive, puttin' a woman on the team and a Canadian. Okay, I see you. But are they really lookin' out for the brothas and sistas? Or is dis just some performative wokeness to get them good PR?
Reid Wiseman, the commander, he a Navy pilot. Salute. But he also a single dad, raising his daughters. I feel that, fam. Gotta give respect to the real ones holdin' it down. But what kinda support system he got while he up there in space? Who lookin' out for his kids? These are the questions we need answers to.
Then there's Victor Glover. Black man in space? That's major. Gotta give props where it's due. But is he gonna use his platform to speak truth to power? Is he gonna represent for the culture? Or is he gonna be another sellout just smilin' for the cameras?
Christina Koch, the first woman on the moon mission. Big up to her! But let's not forget the Black women who been breakin' barriers for years and still ain't gettin' the shine they deserve. Is NASA gonna start puttin' some respek on their names too?
And Jeremy Hansen, the Canadian. Aight, cool, Canada in the mix. But let's not get it twisted, this ain't about international unity. It's about power and control. Who really benefitin' from this space race? It ain't the folks in the hood, that's for sure.
Wiseman wanna take a notepad to write down his thoughts. Word? I hope he usin' dat notepad to write down the struggles of the people back on Earth. I hope he rememberin' the ones who ain't got no voice. 'Cause space ain't nothin' if we leavin' folks behind.
Koch takin' handwritten notes from people? Okay, that's a start. But them notes better be talkin' 'bout real issues. They better be talkin' 'bout poverty, police brutality, and systemic racism. If not, it's just another empty gesture.
Look, I ain't hatin' on space exploration. But I'm sayin', we gotta keep it real. We gotta ask the hard questions. Who is this really for? Is it for the wealthy elites who wanna escape Earth while the rest of us suffer? Or is it for all of humanity?
We gotta make sure that the benefits of space exploration trickle down to the people. We gotta make sure that the technology they develop up there is used to solve problems down here. We gotta make sure that everyone has a seat at the table. If not, this whole space race is just another distraction from the real issues we facin' every day.
Bottom line: NASA better start showin' love to the community. They better start investin' in our future. They better start liftin' up our voices. 'Cause if they don't, we gon' call 'em out on it. We gon' let 'em know that we see through the BS. We gon' keep it 100, no cap.
So, is Artemis II really for the people, or just frontin'? The jury's still out. But we watchin'. We always watchin'. And we ain't afraid to speak our minds.
