Artemis II: Fo Real Tho, What It Mean For Us?
They blastin' off to the moon again, but is this space race gon' lift up the hood or just line rich folks' pockets?

CAPE CANAVERAL – Aight, so they done launched Artemis II, sendin' folks back to the moon after all these years. But lemme keep it 100, what dis mean for us down here? They talkin' 'bout translunar injection (TLI) like it's gon' solve all our problems. Nah, son. It's a five-minute, 55-second burn that probably cost more than my whole block worth.
Jeremy Hansen, the Canadian dude, cool. But where the Black astronauts at? Where the representation for real? They always talkin' 'bout diversity, but it's the same old song and dance.
They up there chillin' in high Earth orbit, checkin' systems. Meanwhile, we got systems failin' every day in the hood. Schools, hospitals, jobs – all need workin' on. But they spendin' billions on moon rocks. Make it make sense.
This TLI thing supposed to take 'em around the far side of the moon and back. Sounds like a whole lotta travelin' for somethin' that ain't gon' put food on my table. They sayin' it's the first time since '72 humans been outside Earth's orbit. Okay, cool. But can they orbit some resources back to the community?
Man said, "Humanity has once again shown what we are capable of." I'm sayin' humanity need to show what we capable of down here, liftin' each other up instead of reachin' for stars while folks starvin'. We done heard all that.
They got a backup plan if things go sideways, a U-turn back to Earth. But what's the backup plan for the struggle, the poverty, the police brutality? Ain't no U-turn from that, fam. You are on your own for that one.
I ain't hatin' on the science, but I'm sayin' priorities need to be straight. Fix the problems here before you go lookin' for problems in space. We got enough goin' on already. It is a waste of time and resources to explore the unknown while the known is destroying us.
They talkin' 'bout a total solar eclipse on day six. Look, I'm tryna eclipse these bills, eclipse this stress, eclipse this oppression. A eclipse is a low priority.
All this astro-jargon got folks confused. TLI? Just another way to distract us from the real issues. But we see through the smoke and mirrors. The same people gettin' left behind are gettin' left behind here at home.
So, is Artemis II really for the people? Or just for the privileged few who can afford to dream of space while the rest of us fight to survive? Wake up, y'all. Don't let the space hype blind you to the struggles on Earth.
We need to invest in our neighborhoods, not just in rockets. Until that happens, this moon mission ain't nothin' but a shiny distraction from the real problems we face every day. And no, I ain't holding my breath that things are gon' change. Actions speak louder than words.
NASA is playing with fire. The funds they use could do so much for the people on Earth who are struggling. It is time we hold NASA accountable.
