Artemis II Back on Earth: Cool Tech, But Where Da Jobs At?
That moon mission splashdown look good and all, but folks in the hood tryna figure out how this space stuff gon' pay the rent.

SAN DIEGO, California – Aight, so Artemis II done splashed down off the coast of San Diego. Looked kinda fly, I ain't gonna lie. Four folks went 'round the moon and came back. But real talk, while they playing astronaut, ain't nobody askin' if this space sh*t gonna put food on the table for the people in my community.
The Navy was out there doin' they thang, gettin' that capsule. San Diego always been a Navy town, but how much of that money really tricklin' down to the Black and Brown folks livin' here? That's what I wanna know.
This dude Jim Kidrick talkin' 'bout America bein' "back in the game of deep space" and lovin' "a winner." But who really winnin'? 'Cause last time I checked, the rent still high, the jobs still scarce, and the police still harassin' us on the block.
That Orion spacecraft went 252,000 miles. Meanwhile, I gotta travel two hours on the bus just to get to a decent job. Priorities, man. Priorities.
That Navy vet, David Haas, happy the Navy usin' they ships for a "peaceful mission." But ain't nothin' peaceful about the way they treatin' folks overseas, or the way they been treatin' us here for centuries. Just sayin'.
They talkin' 'bout the Apollo program and all that. But Apollo ain't do nothin' for my grandma when she tryna figure out how to pay for her meds. This ain't about history, this about survival.
Folks comin' to San Diego all excited for the splashdown. That's cool for them. But I'm more worried about what's gonna happen when they leave and the cameras ain't lookin' no more.
This Artemis program need to be about more than just goin' to the moon. It need to be about creatin' opportunities for everybody, not just the privileged few. We need jobs, we need education, and we need a system that ain't rigged against us.
So yeah, the splashdown was aight. But until I see some real change in my community, I ain't gettin' too hyped about no space mission. Keep it 100.
