Airbnb Hittin' Up Black Pastors for a Come Up in NYC, Nahmean?
Them corporate folks tryna slide back in, but is this real or just another hustle?
Aight, so check it. Airbnb, that big money spot where folks rent out they crib, tryna get back in good with the city, right? Seein' they pockets gettin' light cause of all them laws and whatnot. So what they do? They linkin' up with some big-name Black pastors in NYC. Straight up.
Now, on the streets, we callin' it what it is: a play. These corporations always tryna use the community to get what they want. Sayin' they care 'bout the hood, but really they just lookin' out for that bottom line. We seen this movie before. Ain't nothin' new under the sun, ya dig?
Word on the block is, these short-term rentals be messin' with the housing situation. Prices goin' up, people gettin' pushed out. And guess who feelin' that the most? Us. The folks who been here, buildin' this city, gettin' priced out like we ain't worth nothin'.
So, Airbnb comin' to the pastors, talkin' 'bout 'community partnerships' and all that jazz. But what's really gonna change? Are they gonna lower rent? Create jobs? Or just throw a few dollars around and call it a day?
We gotta keep it a buck. These corporations ain't our friends. They see us as a market, a demographic, a way to make more bread. And if they can use the church to get that bread, believe they gonna do it.
But the real ones see through the smoke and mirrors. We know what's real and what's fake. So, Airbnb better come correct, or they gonna find out real quick that you can't buy your way into the hood. Respect is earned, not bought.
I'm not hating on the pastors, they gotta do what they gotta do. But the community gotta stay woke and make sure these corporations ain't playin' us for fools. We need real change, not just photo ops and empty promises.
At the end of the day, it's about survival, ya know? Gotta look out for each other, protect our own, and make sure we ain't gettin' played by these corporate cats. Keep it real or keep it movin'.
